OOWA’s new Means of Detection guidance document helps ensure onsite sewage system components can be accurately located for future maintenance, repairs, and property development activities. The publication explains Ontario Building Code detection requirements and provides recommendations on the use of tracer wire, magnetic markers, and other locating methods. By improving the ability to identify buried system components, the document supports both regulatory compliance and the long-term protection of onsite wastewater infrastructure.
