OOWA’s volunteers work with government ministries and agencies by ensuring wise policies are developed and implemented to help protect Ontario’s environment and the health of its residents.
OOWA has over 500 members and growing while addressing the most important topics in the wastewater industry today. Our membership is made up of a wide array of industry professionals, including:
To encourage young people to consider a career in the onsite wastewater industry, OOWA is now offering memberships to students at no charge. This free membership gives students access to all the benefits of OOWA membership as well as an excellent opportunity to learn more about the industry and to connect with professionals.
Special rates for Young Professionals are also available. This membership is for individuals under the age of 30, who are between graduating and securing their first job or for those who are just breaking into the industry and want to contribute while connecting with established professionals.
When you become a member of OOWA, you are joining a network of engaged professionals who are leaders in the onsite industry and in their communities.
There are two ways to join:
- Follow this link to our online membership portal, create a log-in and then proceed to register and pay with a credit card or request an invoice. This portal then becomes your interface with the association where you can renew your membership and register for our events.

Every month, our members receive an e-newsletter that provides regulatory updates, important association news and details on emerging industry trends. Being a member means being in the know about your industry.
On the first of every month, members are emailed our Training Bulletin that lists skills development courses provided by our education partners. These courses are customized to professionals in our industry and help them acquire the aptitudes required for our Registered Professional Program.
‘Onsite’ is our association’s tri-annual print newsletter. It is distributed both digitally and in hard copy to our 550+ members. It is the only publication in Ontario that addresses the onsite and decentralized wastewater industry. ‘Onsite’ features member profiles, case studies, technical articles and industry updates.
