OOWA Releases 2026–2030 Strategic Plan

OOWA is pleased to share our 2026–2030 Strategic Plan with the membership. This plan represents a comprehensive planning effort by the Board of Directors, OOWA committees, and staff to define the Association’s priorities and direction for the next five years.

Informed by Member Insight

The development of the 2026–2030 Strategic Plan was informed by a broad review of member feedback gathered over several years, including general surveys, program evaluations, event input, and ongoing engagement with members across the province. These insights helped identify recurring themes, emerging needs, and areas where OOWA can deliver the greatest value to the industry.

This collective feedback, combined with committee expertise and board deliberation, played an important role in shaping the overall direction, focus areas, and priorities reflected in the final plan.

About the Strategic Plan

The Strategic Plan builds on OOWA’s mission to strengthen and reinforce the benefits and value of the onsite and decentralized wastewater industry in Ontario through education, member engagement, and sound policies and practices.

The plan identifies four key Areas of Focus that will guide OOWA’s work through 2030:

  • Education – advancing training, professional development, mentorship, and career pathways
  • Member Engagement – strengthening connections across regions and disciplines within the industry
  • Industry Leadership – supporting collaboration, research, and evidence‑based policy and standards
  • Public Awareness – increasing understanding of the value of qualified professionals and responsible system management

Together, these focus areas provide a clear framework for planning, decision‑making, and alignment across OOWA’s committees, programs, and initiatives.
