This overview course largely deals with the requirements related to the on-site sewage systems regulated under the Ontario Building Code (systems with a design capacity of 10,000 litres per day or less). The requirements related to these systems are found primarily in Part 8 of the Code. This course supports building practitioners wishing to write the MMA On-Site Sewage Systems qualification examination and covers various topics including general requirements (wastewater characteristics, design flows, clearances, site conditions, etc.), the design and construction requirements related to each of the five classes of sewage systems, operation and maintenance, and more. The course is also considered as an overview/refresher for those who want to improve their knowledge of on-site sewage systems. Included in the course fee you will receive a copy of the On-site Sewage Systems 2012 manual. Students are required to bring the 2012 Building Code Compendium 2 Volume set, with them to the first class.
