OOWA Registered Professional Program
OOWA Registered Professional Program The Ontario Onsite Wastewater Association is now an authorized delivery agent for the MMAH- Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, and as such is implementing the Registered Professional Program for its members that will set the standard for the onsite industry in Ontario. The purpose of the program is to provide OOWA members the opportunity to have their skills and expertise recognized by the industry and general public. OOWA will be developing training and education for the following areas of the onsite industry; Installers, Designers, Maintenance/Service Providers, Inspectors, and Private Home Inspectors. The program is voluntary and only available to OOWA members.

Soils Assessment for Onsite Wastewater Disposal
May 1 & 2, 2012
Fees: $609.28
This two day course prepares the student for making accurate soil specific site assessments to determine the best location for a potential system, based on results of soil identification and hydraulic testing.
Students will develop a fundamental knowledge of soil origin, parent materials, structure, and classification. Students learn to determine vertical separation, treatment capability, porosity and loading capacity and how to apply field information to system design..
Course materials are included in tuition. Participants receive credit with OOWA's Registered Professional Program.

Locating, Exposing, and Advanced Testing for Onsite Systems
The purpose of the Locating, Exposing, and Advanced Testing Course is to introduce the most commonly used methods for the OS Inspector in Ontario to locate, expose and test components of an onsite system including tanks, treatment systems, chambers, gravity-fed fields and pressure distribution mounds. Through the use of photographs, videos and comprehensive study materials, you will learn how to test these systems, even if there is little or no documentation available and /or they are not readily accessible from the surface. This course will also support re-inspection programs in Ontario.
