OOWA Committees
The OOWA committees were developed to allow members the opportunity to actively participate in the development and growth of the association by volunteering their talents and time.
Policy and Procedures
The P&P committee’s mandate has two main purposes:
- To assist the Board of Directors in matters of procedure in order to make effective decisions that will have a positive impact the association.
- To help make and change policy with respect to Constitutional Issues within the organization, while protecting the best interests of the association and its members.
Membership Services
The Membership & Communications Committee’s purpose is to enhance the services currently offered to our members as well as develop new programs and initiatives. The committee is responsible for information, publications, web site, and membership programs.
Professional Development
The Professional Development Committee key focus is to increase the capabilities of OOWA members in the onsite industry. We are developing new programs to enhance and improve onsite expertise and knowledge with the goal to providing professional services to the association and the industry at large.
Government Relations
The Government Relations Committee develops and maintains strong relations with government and licensing bodies is important to OOWA. Our goal is to continue to improve the communications with government and provide an opportunity to work together with regulators to enhance services to those in the onsite wastewater industry.
Onsite Technical Issues
The Onsite Technical Committee evaluates and recommends changes to existing building codes and other related rules and regulations to improve the technical aspects of installation, service and maintenance for the onsite wastewater industry.
Conference Committee
Each year OOWA hosts an annual conference where those in the onsite wastewater industry meet to learn and be updated on new code changes and industry trends and technology. OOWA members interested in participating with the annual conference are urged to contact the OOWA office.
